Research-Grade Compound
Glutathione (GSH) is a 307.33 Da tripeptide thiol built from glutamate, cysteine and glycine. Glutamate is joined to cysteine through its side-chain gamma-carboxyl rather than a standard peptide bond. The free cysteine thiol makes glutathione the principal low-molecular-weight reducing agent inside cells. Laboratories use it as a redox buffer, an enzyme cofactor and a conjugation substrate.
For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Purity standard: Glutathione is sourced to ≥99% by HPLC — sourcing spec. That is the specification every batch must meet, not a measurement of any one vial — the measured figure for a batch is on that batch's Certificate of Analysis.
For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.

NAD+
NAD+ belongs to the nicotinamide cofactor pool that also supplies the NADPH glutathione reductase uses to regenerate GSH from GSSG, so the two are often studied together in redox models.

SS-31
SS-31 is a mitochondria-targeted peptide studied in oxidative stress models, which pairs with work on the mitochondrial glutathione pool.

Buying Glutathione — Frequently Asked Questions
What purity standard applies to Peptide.Express glutathione?
Peptide.Express sources glutathione to a standard of ≥99% purity by HPLC. Each batch is documented with a Certificate of Analysis that reports the measured result for that lot.
How should glutathione be stored?
Lyophilized glutathione should be stored sealed at -20°C, desiccated and protected from light. Once dissolved, glutathione oxidises toward GSSG, so solutions are best prepared fresh, kept at 2-8°C for same-day use, or frozen as single-use aliquots.
Are glutathione injections FDA approved?
Glutathione injections are not FDA-approved drugs for any indication in the United States. Glutathione is sold as a dietary supplement ingredient, and the FDA has publicly raised concerns about compounding sterile injectables from dietary-ingredient glutathione after receiving reports of adverse events. Research-grade glutathione from Peptide.Express is supplied for in-vitro laboratory use only and is not intended for injection or any human use.
All products are sold for in vitro laboratory research use only. Not intended for human consumption, clinical use, or veterinary use. Peptide.Express makes no medical claims. Consult the published literature for research application guidance.
